How long does shipping take?
Orders ship within 2–3 business days via USPS. Shipping is $3.50 for small orders (under a pound) and $7.95 standard — and it is free on orders over $75. You can also choose free local pickup in Ashland, VA at checkout.
Do the bulk discounts stack?
Yes — buy 5+ items and save 5%, or 10+ items and save 10%, applied automatically at checkout. Mix and match any scents.
Are your soaps good for sensitive skin?
Many are. Our Unscented Sensitive Skin bar has no fragrance or colorants at all, and our goat-milk bars are especially gentle. As always, we recommend a patch test if you have known allergies.
What's the cold-process method?
It's the traditional way of making soap from scratch by combining oils and lye, then curing the bars for several weeks. It produces a harder, longer-lasting, gentler bar than mass-produced detergent bars.
Can I order custom soaps?
Absolutely — for weddings, parties, spas, and gifts. Head to our Custom Soaps page to send a request.
What's your return policy?
If something arrives damaged or isn't right, email us within 14 days and we'll make it right with a replacement or refund.
How do you handle payment securely?
Checkout is powered by Stripe, an industry-leading processor. We never see or store your card details.
How does Box Club work?
Box Club is our monthly subscription — five plans starting at $19/month. Each month you get a link and pick every item and every scent in your next box, then it ships to you or waits for pickup in Ashland. Skip a month or cancel anytime. Full details are on the Box Club page in the menu.
Where can I find Heart & Soap in person?
We set up at markets around Ashland, Hanover County, and Richmond through the year. Coming up: Fourth Fridays in downtown Ashland on October 23 from 5 to 8 PM, the Fall Wine & Craft Fair at River Dog Winery on November 7, and the England Street Christmas Market in downtown Ashland on December 5. Do you offer wholesale for shops, salons, and venues?
Yes. We wholesale our handmade soap and body care to local shops, salons, inns, and event venues, and we make custom soaps and wedding favors to order in your colors and scents. Write to contact@heartandsoap.com with what you have in mind and we will send current wholesale terms and a line sheet.
What can I use liquid castile soap for?
Liquid castile soap is a simple plant-oil soap that covers a dozen jobs around the house: body wash, hand soap, and a gentle cleaner for dishes, floors, and produce, diluted to suit the task. We make ours in-house and bottle it in refillable sizes from 8 ounces up to a full gallon, so you can keep topping up the same pump bottle instead of buying new plastic each time.
